Video Killed the Blog Star

I love the radio. I was the studio engineer for my radio station in college, and my radio show was easily my favorite activity I did in college. If I could show what I am working on and demonstrate how I learn with a radio show somehow, I’d do it in a second.

Classic photo of me & my cohost in the good ol’ days of college…

That’s unrelated though. I once again took a little while to make this post for a few reasons. First, I am going to try to transition to making video dev logs instead of blogs–I am having trouble with making YouTube videos that don’t look unprofessional right now, but I am going to use AI to do as much of that process as possible, so hopefully that won’t take me too much longer.

Second, I had a playable demo of what I am calling One Card Draw, the game I was working on in my last post, but I haven’t gotten too far, and was feeling uninspired with pretty much everything so far except for the concept. With Unity 6 just being released, and all the new multiplayer features it comes with, I figured now is the time to be ahead of the curve!

Fancy new Unity UI! Look at those play buttons….

So I am starting the project from scratch, with the exception of the card, stage, and weapon 3D assets I’ve made! (Which admittedly, I spent most of the time working on so far–I got a bit distracted again….)

It might be a little while for this project either way! I have an interview I am very excited for on Friday, and I am joining the ScoreSpace Jam this weekend, so I will see when I get an extended amount of time to work on it again.

I’m keeping this post brief as well. Who wants to read more than five paragraphs from a 22 year old online anyways? I’ll say more when I start making video dev logs, and then you can listen to me talk while you play games on your phone! So much better.

P.S. – it has occurred to me the adult version of a radio show is a podcast. Every day of my adult life I’ve fought the temptation to make one. I will fight it for another day, but when I have some real experience in game development, believe me, I will be podcasting like no one’s business.
